    As I advise elsewhere...if you set a holiday notice stick a Post-It note to that effect on your monitor in case you forget by the time you get back.

    Very good tip, but it'll only work if nobody else uses the computer and removes notes

    Use a computer calendar (Outlook, Google etc) and set a reminder, or put it on your phone.

    knotted hanky is good, note in calendar I can also do. Don't have a mobile phone (thank goodness)
