No. The rates fluctuate constantly. When you list the item the rate is at one point, but when it sells it has sold for the current rate. In the case of these items, the sale end rate was $1.53 and it had not changed. I made a recent international purchase & I paid in GBP and the payment converted to the current day of payment amount. I have noticed that sometimes items are listed with a GBP price & also a $ "equivalent" , but if you go in & check the current rate as of the date of the listing the $ conversion amount is less. So I no longer depend on the $ amount listed in the bracket, but do my own research on what the conversion amount is, particularly at the time the sale ends. Actually, it states that $ amounts are only estimates.

So the $1.50 start bid I've been using all this time is not a YDC fixed amount to start with? (although, for me it's a nice, easy, round sum to start off with)

It is a nice easy amount to start with, but it was originally an actual conversion rate for a previous YDC. Some people list for much less; as long as the maximum 99 pence and it's other currency equivalents are not exceeded at the time of listing. I've seen auction start for 1 penny and climb to ridiculous heights. My favs

    Let's see.........a little math fun

    1 GBP = $1.53
    1 Dollar = 0.655534 GBP

    $723.56 = 472.92 GBP [$723.56 / $1.53 = 472.91503 GBP]

    Great total so far everyone!

Will be posting donation receipts soon.

    Thank You!

Not sure of what Meebo will be sending; she'll be home Thursday. Possibility still exist that the total could be > 500 GBP. That possibility could also happen if someone sent in a last minute "topper" donation.

    Hi Meebo,
Thank you so much for your paypal payment. I need to know exactly what cmjewels paid to you before I can post any amounts here. Tx
