Thanks for yet more welcomes, and the advice. Hello leapingcat, gimme a clue who you are :-)

Oddly enough I've just had my best weekend in years elsewhere and need to get new stuff sorted out before interest dies down!

I have a few questions which I don't think are covered by FAQs, at least I'm sure the first one won't be.

Is it best to get a shop before listing or list a few and then fit them into a shop?

How easy is it to take a book down from sale if it's no longer available?

Can one look at completed items to get an idea of what sells and prices?

    Cheers

Probably easier to open a shop first Actually I don't really know!!

Easy peasy - just click on close auction

I think I'm right in saying its best to open a store first...

if you list stuff and then open the store, then you have to go through all your items and edit them to put them into your store...

I agree here. It is much easier this way around. Open your shop, set up the different categories then list. If once you get stocking the shelves you find you are a category short just return to the store and open a new one and continue listing. Easy once you get the hang of it. Good luck.

You're all as bad as I am for not going to bed Lol!!

Thanks for the shop advice, will definitely take that on board.

Irene, I love that fox picture.

Panther, yup, but I need to put it up on another site first 'cos they've been asking for nearly 4 years, I'll get on it and THEN I'll put it in here.

Bluegipsy, are you really in Winsford? (You see I'm not really in Bispham that's just my address), only if you are then we were turnin our boat round in your flash the other day!!

Were you really? Well well small world. Yes I am here and I know you were if you call it the Flash lol only people who know the area call it that. I live only a couple of miles from the flash and have to pass it whenever coming in or leaving town, such a pretty area shame they built a dan big road over it but hey thats town planners for you.
So where were you going to and where are you now?

We've just come up the Anderton Boat Lift and are on the Trent and Mersey canal heading towards Middlewich. we'll take 3/4 days from here to Nantwich where have our mooring and intend to stock up for several months' travel, then head south and hopefully to the Thames!

Hi Magpie - Nice to meet you. There's a brilliant crowd of people on here who are only to willing to help "newbies". I'm just a step-up from "newbie" myself and the help I've had as been excellent. It's a GREAT auction site and a fantastically friendly forum. I'm sure you'll feel "at home" soon.

Very nice. I have been to and on the Anderton lift it is a wonderful experience. So glad they were able to fund the work that needed doing on it as it is a brilliant piece of history. Middlewich is a lovely small Town. We are doing a craft fair there the weekend of 19/20th June as they have their annual Boat Festival that weekend.
I have been on a couple of holidays on a narrow boat & really enjoyed it, sadly they are very expensive to hire now & we would need a good crew now as we are not as fit as we once were lol. Enjoy Nantwich, another quaint Town.
