You live on a boat? You can't be a serious bookseller then! I gotta enough books to sink the Titanic!

    Hi Magpie,

    and welcome.

I also sell a few books, but I'm not really a bookseller. I guess my main thing is records.....or is it toys and games??

I dop a bit of all sorts if truth be known.

    Anyway, my tips would be.

1 - Be patient. Don't give up if you don't get a load of sales in your first week here. It sometimes takes time, but it's worth it in the long run.

2 - List lots. You don't get charged to list and relist, so if stuff doesn't sell, it hasn't cost you hard cash, just a bit of time.

3 - Use the facilities ebid give you for free. USE the 5 stores and make them look nice. Use the free pictures as and when you need to. It deosn't cost extra to put in up to 5 pictures.

4 - Use gallery. Yes you do end up paying a small FVF when you use it (2% instead of totally free), but that is only when it sells, it's not a listing fee, and it does make a big difference when people are browsing.

    I hope this helps.

all the best, and I also look forward to seeing your listings.

another quick tip - Keep coming back in the forums and making your voice heard, so that we all come and look to see your items.

    Last tip.

    Have fun.

For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

TOY-PALLOI - For all sorts of traditional playthings!

THE PAPERBOYS PLEASURE - For Books & Magazines

    OUT ON THE FLOOR - For Records - (mainly 1950's - 60's)

    VIEWPOINT - Photographic Equipment

THE SCRAPYARD - Spare parts for old cars and bikes

Hello magpie and welcome; I too think that I know you from Another Place. My only advice would be to get listing as soon as you can, Ebid does differ from other sites and the only way you can really find out is to jump in with both feet (the listing not the canal!) and use the help as and when you need it.
