Funnily enough I have just had the same problem with some old files, what did work for me was, again making sure in "options" it is set to save pictures in a separate folder.
Highlight your files and Export" them as a Turbolister database and then "Import them back in again, they will import into a separate folder and will not overwrite your originals and the problem should be solved

some files still didnt work and NL said it couldnt find the pictures, what I did in the end was make a copy of those files in TL, change the ebay category to a completely different one and then they uploaded ok
