Sounds like a hijack virus to me,the site management should be notified at once so they can see if it affecting the site or maybe it is your pc that is infected

You should contact them either way.If you do not have this already you should download and run hijackthis here

A required .DLL file, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found then your going to need another try,you can try changing the name of the file from hijackthis to whatever you want or try a different scan

Not a virus...this is a functioning website URL. My computer is protected with System Mechanic Professional V9.5, along with System Shield software...since installing over two years ago my system is completely monitored 24/7...haven't had a single infected file/trojan/virus/etc. in that time.

As I said earlier I will try to grab a screenshot when I get back to doing up listings either late today or tomorrow and forward it on to Gazza.

I have been listing most of the morning also and have not seen that at all.

Might be a good idea to clear all your cookies then see if it still lists the same thing.
It may not be a virus and I do not think it it but it could well be mailware hijacking.

Do you run an ad-aware program if so may pay to run that as well.


I use CCcleaner everyday after I have finished surfing.

I never saw that before, and tried to duplicate what OP did and could not get that to come up. But I use IE. Would be interesting to see if it only comes up on what OP uses, I think she said Chrome?

Well, it's been several days and I have been unable to duplicate my original problem. I guess all I want to say at this point is this...

I know what I saw...I saw it 8 times...I'm not crazy...if it happens again and I can manage to snag it in a screenshot I'll post it here and also send to admin.

I think it's part of the feebay affiliate scheme.

Somone has probably used there affiliate link in a google ad, in a attempt to drive traffic to feebay, who then makes a purchase or signup. The person who put their link in the ad would then get a referral fee paid to them.

If ebid has not added that address to the block list then the ad will show.

Well, it just did...I have been updating my All About Me page and boom! It showed up in the lower-left while something was loading up...tried to grab a screenshot of it but was unable.

I'll snag it eventually...aaaaack!!

Well...it took me two months to capture it, but I finally managed to get a screenshot of what this original thread is all about:



In this particular instance I was going to list some more patterns and had clicked on List Similar from an active listing. While the page was loading out (you can see it was still loading up) it was going through the usual "waiting for's"...facebook, eBid, twitter, etc., and amongst them this "rover.ebay.com" popped in....this is NOT a virus/adware/malware..it is an active, working website!

I am sending on to site management support today so they can investigate further. There is just NO reason for that website to be "working" within our eBid servers...hopefully we will hear something back soon...
