Books you read when you were growing up.

As I am ancient, I was a young teen before we got TV so I read anything I could get my hands on. The ones I remember the most are Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Little Women & Men, Lorna Doone and anything that Mom didn't think I should read!

I notice that you are from Winsford. My grandfather was born at Davenham in 1875 and my kinfolk (SHAW / RATHBONE and connections) on that side of the family were from that neck of the woods.

(As you can tell, genealogy is another of my hobbies.) lol

This really made me think, and I can remember one of my favourites being The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton......... in fact I think I could read that again now! I know I still have it somewhere...... Ooh it brings back the most magical memories.
