Forum Games conversion to Social Group

The games are a tedious waste of space, and it's been a joy not having to wade through them to find the posts from people asking for help, so I'm sorry they have resurfaced. I hope it's just a blip. There is a lot of stuff here that's "not my cup of tea", and they can mostly be simply ignored - the games are more of a problem because by their very nature they take up more screen space than they deserve. All those one word posts filling a page. Tucking them away out of sight of the "new posts" function isn't just a matter of taste, it's virtually essential to keep the business side of the forums functioning properly.

There's no need to get snotty m'dear. No, it's the particular way games work. Typically when somebody plays the games they have a go at a dozen or more different ones. This then fills the entire page of "new posts" with games, pushing the rest of the stuff, KT included, off the page. When the chat goes on in the KT it's typically in a handfull of threads, with multiple posts being made to the same thread - perfectly compact and tidy. For people who just sit in the KT posting to the topics they like, the games probably have little impact. For those of use who monitor the "new posts" list to see newbies asking for help (who often don't know the best place to do so, so can't be relied on using just one or two forums) it makes finding them difficult. If this can be solved by the game posts simply being removed from the "new posts" list, what's the harm?

Yes, would also prefer that forum games have their own area, one that does not mix more "serious" auction site Q &As.

The suggestion at #1 would still seem the best for keeping both camps happy.

Or get rid of them completely and restore the 'Arcade' feature - which at least had something approaching proper games.

I suspect the arcade type games appealed to a completely different audience.

As for "fight"... I think it's already been pointed out that since I wear a crash-hat permanently any opponent is going to need a pretty tough right hook. ;o)
