My Canon camera was made in China.
OP have you only juts work n up to the fact that just about everything today is made in China.
If one Japanese company makes a product in China, they can sell it much cheaper, so the rest all have to follow ?
And who is the person that want to buy British made electronics ? I am British but we have never made anything with much quality eg our cars were rubbish.
(Just an aside, but I think that western countries are going to have to start reducing their wages - gradually - so that things will be more equal with China etc - otherwise we will all be on the streets)
OP
The thing is, much as I dislike everything being made in China, and as much of it is rubbish. They can make good stuff if they use advanced or Western technology. (which we have given them)
Eg they make all the parts in your computer - hard disk etc. Now they are very high tech. And they are very reliable.
More complicated, sometimes only some part of item is made in China. Probably why no company wants to reveal just where everything is made, assembled etc. With this Toyota recall, turns out accelerator assemblies were made by 2 or 3 different manufacturers and only some failed.

The label doesn't really matter.
China makes most of the TV's, cameras, fridges, freezers, etc, etc
A long production line all the same, then they put the labels on.
A sony telly can be no different from a panasonic.
Most of the big companies work this way.
You're not buying anything different.
Did you see the program, where the chap only bought British if he could?
And along came the production team and showed him were his stuff really came from.
It was a real eye opening.
Problem is it's not easy to trace production of a lot of items.
Most may say Japan, because they are shipped from there, if the final label was put on there, but it was made in China.
Most of us are being conned like this.
We buy with good intentions, but get let down.
