Pictures not downloading

Hi!

I'm having great problems downloading pictures from the site. Curiously the ads always show but for most other pictures I just get red crosses (IE8). On an item page where there are multiple photos accompanying the description, the first image shows large but clicking on the thumbnails for the other images just puts a semi-opaque mask across the main picture. I don't have this problem on other sites and have tried Mozilla browser but the problem is the same. I've deleted temporary internet files, browsing history and even cookies but still with no joy. I seem to be getting (usually) a reasonable broadband speed of about 6.7Mbps so that shouldn't be a problem and, in any case, I rarely experience the problem on other sites.
Very frustrating! Any ideas?

Check your firewall for blocking of any of the eBid image servers.

Thanks for that but I just checked the firewall logs etc and it's not that. Besides, the problem is too inconsistent.
I've just right-clicked where an image should be and got the location. I then pasted it into the address bar and at first got 'error 403 forbidden' but when I refreshed it the picture showed. I then used the back button on the browser and surprisingly everything was then there and I was even able to click the thumbnails on an item page and view them large!
Very strange. The browser reports 'Done' but maybe it isn't!
