Talking Having 1 Ebid Shop Opposed To 5 Ebid Shops

When One As 5 Shops Do You Think You Sell More Opposed To Having One Shop.
Would Not Be Better To Have A Large Sop With Vast Merchandise Listed In Categories And Sub-Categories.
Just An Interesting View Of Thoughts To Be Sought?
    Cheers Tony

I have sometimes wondered that myself, Tony. I think that one of the advantages of more than one shop is that you can specialise and develop a different style and 'atmosphere' for each of your shops, if you want to.

It puts me off when someone has a store in say DVDS and it has a load of other stuff in it.

    Reincarnation is just another repeat

That goes for me too. But if a store says "general" then it's okay. On the other hand, if I see a link in a signature I'm more likely to follow it if the text or shop name makes it clear it sells the sort of thing I like to buy.

Of course, if I'm looking for a particular item and just use the search box, it doesn't matter what the shop layout is, I'm never going to see it.

    Swings and roundabouts I suspect.

Another thought... I do think nearly empty shops look silly. I have a couple myself at the moment, and I feel uncomfortable knowing that, because when I see others with barely-there shops I think it looks as if they're just playing at it. Like when people do big plug posts saying "all my books six brass razoos" or something, and you look and they only have three. I think it looks odd. Even though I've been there, done that.

As a buyer I know what i want and dont normally wander around once i put a bid on or buy the item, but i would think if i was to it would be because everything is under one roof. if i had to go from link to link to visit each store

    i'd give up

If they make the change we've asked for, and they're looking at, to making continuing to buy after one easier, then you'll have the choice of looking per shop or per seller (all items) so you wouldn't have to give up, you could dive in by the route that suited you.

I wouldn't be able to get all my stuff into one shop I wouldn't be able to close the door !

Seriously though I'm with Kimbo that I don't like seeing a jumble of things when the store title indicates a certain range of products.

If it's a general store then fine, you would expect that, but for example I wouldn't want to go searching in a pottery shop and then find a load of baby clothes instead !

    Agree.

Also, we plough away putting things into sub cats in our shops and yet they dont show up in the drop down box anymore

I've got two shops here one for cds and one for dvds
Plus a small one for bits and bobs
I have wondered though about having the one (which I did on the dark side)

Simply because it would probably bring me up higher on the list of shops

It is hard to know what is the best to do

Also if deciding to do one which shop category do I put it in?
In my case CDs? or DVDs?
