    Default Listing emoticons via WYSIWYG

Any smilies added to listings using the previous WYSIWYG editor appear to be broken now. I'm going to take all mine out using the bulk editor, but I imagine some sellers won't notice, and of those who do, some won't be happy using the bulk editor, so a management fix would be nice. Cheers.

    Didn't notice

Now as I have in the past done many many auctions with various smiley things how can I bulk edit them out?

You will need to find the code where it appears in your listing and change it for something else. This isn't too hard for me, since mine went in via a default template, so I can change:

    Code:
    <p>Thanks! <img border="0" title="Laughing" alt=":o)" mce_src="http://uk.nine.ebid.net/editor/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" src="http://uk.nine.ebid.net/editor/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" /></p>
    for

    Code:
    <p>Thanks!</p>
    for example.

You'll need to do that for each smiley you've used, in each context you've used it.

Now you see why I hope ebid will do it for you!

oh not easy for me then
I think I'll wait for them to come around for manual re-listing or admin fix

I just noticed that yesterday and manually changed them on my All About Me page. Seems to be a new range of smilies available, so probably that's why the old links don't work?

No sign of a management fix, so here's how to do it the slow way...

If you used the ordinary smile use batch edit and in the description replace this

    with

If you used the laughing smiley then replace

    with

That will put the new versions in for you. These look like:
