Default eBid a top rated site on foxmarks/xmarks

I'd heard (vaguely) of foxmarks. Didn't know they'd changed name.

Just had this come up on a google alert, so thought I'd pop it in here in case it's any use to the management.

It tells me there are an awful lot of sites that sell that are not auction sites. What does it tell you?

Tells me the site is comparing alternate sites to feebay. What is wrong with that?

    tick tick tick. Times up.

Answer: to make good comparison things have to be equal. Feebay and ebid are not equal in important area:

Feebay is based on charging for listing/relisting, resulting in seller who are careful to list less and only list what will sell well. No whims, no 500 gizmos, only listing sure sells.

ebid is based on NOT charging those fees to encourage sellers to add all their stock. Just like Macy's. Buyers love the choices, and the stock generates steady daily sales. Do ALL ITEMS SELL IN WEEK? No they are not meant to (and explains why those who insist on sticking with feebay forumula, 5-10 hot items run for 3-5 days, never sell much here --of course ebid's fault).

So, this site is looking at ebid (and all alternative sites) ratio of listed items to sold items and ratio is wide. Sure it is.

That too! Tells me it is a sloppy way to run a "survey".
