Unhappy Jewelry misspelled numerous times on this website

    Dear fellow ebidders,
I notice jewelry has been misspelled many times on this website in the catagories.

    examples are.......
    Costume Jewellery
    (24513)
    Ethnic & Tribal
    (644)
    Fine Jewellery
    (21481)
    Jewellery Boxes & Supplies
    (1172)
    Mens Jewellery

I also notice in the jewelry threads that many people are now spelling it the same way following thier example.
    Look it up !
lets all contact ebid & get them to correct this mistake.

PLEASE ! help me out Ya'll .......Jewelry is my catagory & I need it to be correct. Will you help me get it changed by making them notice with a few emails ?
    Thank you, Felicia

Agreed----Jewelry is the correct word and spelling.

It would be helpful if the operators of this site would correct their mistake.

I'm not sure if it affects searches on Google and elsewhere too.

Incorrect. Americans buyers will use jewelry and the English speaking countries (including Canada predominately) will use jewellery when searching for such items.

As Google Products only serves the UK, USA and Germany then as long as a seller uses their local spelling then their items will be found on their respective Google sites. They will therefore access their primary target market.

The only place it becomes an issue is on eBid itself and that is one of the language differences that is catered for as it is correctly spelled on both the US and UK sites. Items listed as Jewelry and jewellery will both appear under the same category.

There is only so far you can go to cater for language differences. The only enhancement I can see eBid could make is to make a search for either word return results for both.

eBid's search engine is weak and I am hoping for vast improvements in it in the new site.
