I would not have thought it was legal as hopefully 'our' eBid owns the Intellectual Property in the name. What is also bad is if you Google 'eBid' this nashville one comes up 3rd in the list. eBid's legal people need to send a stiff letter me thinks.

This was brought to their attention more than a year ago.
Like many, many issues brought to their attention, they didn't even respond.

I think this place uses the name Elephant Butte (long UUUUU people) Irrigation District or something, it is a area name, probably near Nashville? Looks like it is city stuff for sale, buses, etc. So I suppose they have had the ebid name longer than ebid has. Too bad ebid can not convince them to auction the stuff on ebid. Looks like an interesting mix.

But I think we will see more using of ebid's name. Flattering? There is another one that shows up on google, ebid shopping that leads only to feebay stuff. I reported that one, now that seems very shady. This elephant one not so much.

Deltadleta, ifsthe site you refer to is a .com site ? If so it has been around longer than eBid and holds the rights to the .com domain name. From what I have read they want alot of money to give it up.

You are right. When I used MSN to bring up ebid today, I noted that the Elephant place was there as a choice and so was the ebid. whatever that OP mentioned and it now says 20 cent auctions! So they are being naughtly!!! We should be flattered, but now more than ever it it important to always tell everyone ebid.NET.

There's a dot com site using the ebid name aswell, however they have put the word my in front of eBid.
