Why did you start collecting postcards?

I came across a Players card of a silent film actress which I thought was interesting, I bought that then went on to buying topographical and anything else I liked the look of - I sell them too now!

I started collecting comic books when is was a kid mainly british ones firstly.
when i was a kid i had a bad time learning to read and write and comic books help me with this by reading the bubbles and looking at the pictures made it easier to understand what was going on. This made it much easier for me to learn to read.

My uncle worked for a an oil company in the 1950s and was always going out to the Gulf on business, so he was sending postcards + stamps back to my brother & I.

Then when I started my family history, I started collecting postcards of the places connected with my family - both here and overseas.

i don,t know guess things happen that way. have over 2000 + post cards trading & cigerett cards. sell a few now and then have some uk postal issue listed. may list some older photographic ones later.
