PowersellersUnite has just updated us again !
February 17th we have gone down by a thousand !
But we are still 4th !
So lets hope they keep doing it daily like all the other sites.

I hope some Ninja's are ready ! (with some good listings)

The latest drop may have been partly due to the sale I made last night !

The PSU site only gives a total for the number of items available from the USA site. It doesn't take into account auctions available from elsewhere so i wouldn't worry about the stats too much.

We need more buyers.Number of auctions is important but number of active buyers even more so.

Sellers listing is what brings in buyers. Listings are advertising! I just checked with my latest buyer. I asked how they found me. I got the usual answer "couldn't find the item on feebay, checked Google, found your listing, signed up".

It's the best way to advertise, far better than ads etc. Nothing else really matters! Sellers have it within their own power to change things (which is a good thing).

    Selller Power!

So true. So far all my buyers either found my items via Google or Craig's List. So now I'm trying to offer more variety.

you could have a point with the sale you made (only on a larger scale) ...be positive, it could be partly due to more sales? i have made over 50 sales in 3 months most of which are collectables that cant be duplicated. altho i have listed a few more items not nearly as many as i have sold.

Its like the chicken and egg problem.
We need sellers to attract buyers and buyers to attract sellers.

And the thing is people are finding what they want on here. An example is that before February barely any Playmobil items were on here (A very popular toy for young children). Fortunately we now have a new seller trading in Playmobil and it's selling. The problem is keeping categories topped up.

Last night i sold the last Mamod related item on here so now anyone searching for Mamod on here will draw a blank. However if i find anymore Mamod items in the garage then it's going straight onto my store as it will sell just as easy here as anywhere else.

I've also sold 25 items the past week but have only had time to list 2 more. (I'm not moaning because it's a great problem to have but again shows the problem of keeping various categories topped up).

However next Wednesday I will have a bit more time to myself and aim to have 2,000 auctions listed by the end of March.

Now i know that my items are collectables and if somebody wishes to purchase something from me then in most cases it is not available elsewhere. But what i have noticed is that some of my customers have then gone onto purchase consumables such as ink cartridges, health products and giftware etc.

I think as sellers were all here to help each other.

And in the time it took me to type this i could have listed more items or taken a longer lunch break. C'est La Vie.

“theretrotrader” is dead right. I just had a look what he is offering and he has a good range of attractive offerings. I find the same, I have over 2500 listings, mostly very low value, but I am selling 75-100 items a month. More people selling more stuff will bring in the buyers. The biggest turn-off for a new potential buyer is not to find anything he is interested in. So I implore sellers to list more stuff but make sure the prices are attractive to the buyer even if you don’t make so much profit. And the same goes for the postage & packing charge, keep the cost to the buyer as low as you can.

    Bunscok - well said.
And lets try to make sure all the categories have some good listings.
