Thread: Booksellers. Why ...

I am fed up with finding interesting book titles but then the listing does not include any more detail. Either give enough detail for me to decide whether that is the book for me, or please don't bother at all. Just including the title and the condition is not enough - especially when there isn't a picture either. I don't care if you are busy; failing to include the details looks like laziness and if you are too busy selling to actually sell, then you're doing something wrong.

books are not easy to sell as people want books for pretty much nothing.

I will pay a fair price for books I buy

But then...like all of my shopping...I shop around.

I get the impression that some sellers don't do much market research before they list.

If a book is in high demand it will sell at whatever price the buyer is willing to pay

I agree with you, and I always try to provide a full description of the books I sell, photograph of front cover, size, number of pages, publisher, year. hardback/paperback. Plus a further description, also a paragraph or two either from the introduction, or the dust jacket/cover.

... I also try to give as much info as I can about size condtion blurb etc...

I try to be fair wth my prices - the books are donated - some sellers are dearer and some are cheaper - I have tried to judge a fair price.

.. and hope that I have the cover or size someone is looking for

Maybe its being fussy, but I would rather they skipped a detailed plot line and told me if it is hardcover or soft. And said something about condition. Then I can judge if price is in line.

I see your point I'm a refugee from the other side selling books I just couldn't afford to stay over there. others will see the light eventually Still trying to list as many books as possible but buyers are slower to move over here .

    Hi Gerry and Wendy,

Welcome, it'll be good to get some more variety.

Before you list 40k books with the postage included in the price, you'll do better if you show a separate cost for the book and the postage and give a reasonable and CLEAR discount for purchasing more than one.

Okay. Thanks for the advice, which we'll keep in our minds when it comes to the big push.

It's taking some time as we need to unload all our items from eBay into TurboLister and then Import them into Ninja. There's not much functionality with Ninja by the looks of it.

What do most people like to pay with, PayPal or something else?
