Ebid advertise on the telly
Ebid advertise on the telly
TV adds are very expensive. ebay can afford to advertise everywhere due to all the fees they take, I don't think eBid want to go down that road.

As I said in a previous post, It's not the TV viewers we want, It's the internet users.
We need to get links onto ISPs home pages.
If eBid advertises in all the countries they serve, then they will have to charge more fees to us. Don't think we want to pay more fees. Besides, we need the on-line buyers to come take a look, not the TV viewers.
This has been asked for so many times and a typical newbie ask,not gooing to happen, costs a fortune,DO YOU WATCH TV ADS ,I don't I go and make a cuppa, ebid advertise on websites around the internet, and we all advertise ourselves as much as possible, this is NOT EBAY you have to work a bit harder here but it does happen if you have the right stuff at the right price and follow all of the tips freely available on the forums.............. Just ask on kitchen table is the best place, seek out kimbo and astral and a few others who have help pages.
TV ads = Big bucks = higher fvf and listing fees = people then start leaving = ebid makes less and could go bust
Thats my theory as things are at the moment

1) Too expensive. Our fees would have to go up to pay for it.
2) I don't think I've watched a TV commercial in months. They're great for trips to the kitchen and bathroom. Otherwise, I fast-forward through them (almost everything I watch is pre-recorded on my DVR).
3) When ***Bay got started, they didn't use TV, or radio, or anything else for advertising. They grew through word of mouth. eBid is doing the same thing now.
I'm sure the new site design should attract some attention from the media - just wish we could get on with it!
