    Default Virgin PC Guard

Hi I was wondering if anybody else has problems with Virgin PC Guard.
I was originally on Blueyonder PC guard, then Virgin updated it to their own version a couple of months ago. Since then my computer has slowed right down.It now takes about 5 minutes to boot up and get online, whereas before it took less than 2 minutes.
Not a major problem, but very frustrating.

I found that if you download the new virgin pc guard you get no probs but always have avg on standby

My advice would be to get rid of Virgin's PC Guard as soon as possible.

I had the misfortune to have it installed on my laptop; and it allowed nasties to invade not once but TWICE. I only found out about problems because of microsoft alerts, checked VPG that showed no threats present. After the first attack one of the IT crew at my work suggested downloading the free AVG version; which he said should detect any problems, it did. Unfortunately I rather stupidly reverted to VPG after the clean up and the same thing happened again. I have now been with AVG's paid version for just over a year with no problems.

In my experience Virgin's companies are good, but when you expect / need customer support everyone runs for the hills and makes excuses. Or ask you inane questions such as: "have you tried rebooting the computer? (I thought that everyone tried that as soon as they hit problems as it very often puts things right). Also the people I have contacted at Virgin IT have been extremely un-helpful and in some cases I have known more about their systems than they do.
