If you have trouble threading the needle put something white behind it and it will be easier.

ejean, if you have any specific questions let me know. I did some of the quilt blocks and thought they turned out fine. I can help you with stitches if I know what you are wanting to do.

Or a kit to start off. You can pick one up at any store with a needlework department. Chose one with a design that you really like, it usually contains all you need except for the hoop which is easy to pick up at the store too.

With embroidery you can do very simple stitches to start, and then move on to the really fancy ones. Look up some of embroidered things in my linen store to see what can be done with embroidery projects. Some are very simple flowers etc, some are very fancy projects.

As you get more skilled and more interested, you can copy patterns from books, or draw your own etc. It is relaxing and fun to do. Buy some plain linens and add decoration to them. Nice to have a hobby.

I have a little instruction booklet that shows each step. I am not wanting to part with it but would scan and email you pictures if that would help.

Thank you but I did not do a stitch. Its old stuff I buy at auction, but you can see the possiblilty for decorating linen, or pillows, etc.

Good luck, you sound excited and ready to get started! Of course with any new hobby you must buy all of the various accessories too. i.e. fancy bag to carry it, fancy hoop, holder for your needles and floss, etc.
