    Default embroidery help

    i would like to try embroidery..is it difficult ? where is the best place to start ? and to buy threads ect

    Embroidry is a great hobby. I am making pillowcases for Christmas gifts.

    I don't know about stores there but Micheals or other craft stores have kits and everything you need to get started.

    Good luck and let us see some of the finished projects.

    No it isn't.:eek

    The links I posted above are just simple stitches and take you through step by step.

    There is also a video library in the second link. I shows you how to do each stitch.

    best place to start is by threading the needle- providing you can see the eye!!!

    Threading the needle is sometimes a heck of a lot easier said than done. If ever I'm using a very small needle I find I have to resort to a needle threader - my eyes won't let me see the eye of the needle to thread it.

    I know the feeling, the needle is moved closer then further away from me, my kids think I am doing some sort of meditation!!!!

    Have you tried a magnifier that goes around your neck.
    I have one for detailed work. It's brilliant, you can adjust the cord to whatever length you want it away from your face. They are great for reading with too.
