Default Ebay, = a bad job

I am in the US and I do get the surveys. I get phone calls too about their great news.
I have come to this site. On the Power Seller United site (mebership needed to participate, no need to be a power seller , free) there is a chart of auction site and there number of auctions.
It is clear ebay is going in the dumpster. This site is doing better and better.
I came here because of the up trend.
Between Ebay and Paypal, I sell but make zip. I hope I can do far better here.
Donohoe will drtiove Ebay into a death spiral.

I really like this ebid site and I wish them well, and the new look.
But I wish they had chosen another name.
So many people (me included) make typos and confuse the 2 sites !

    Regards
    Julie

It's not the best. Trouble is that once you have gone with a name re-branding is an exercise not to be entered into lightly. All the work and expense that you have put in so far getting your product known is wasted and you have to spend as much again just letting people know the branding has changed. That was one of the points some of us tried to put across when eBid were going to change to a 'bubble-gum' logo during the site update. Thankfully they appear to have dropped that idea and settled for just a colour change.

Just for fun...Suggestions for a new eBid name?

Is my mind going or was the post deleted?

I thought I offered up Kerching (as in the sound of a cash register) as a site name.

Did anyone see the post? If not then senility has taken a grip.

In the beginning we all did. Hard to sell somewhere for years and forget the name at the drop of a hat! But I never even use the name anymore, so after a while it gets lots easier.

and ya can't even compare them!

I agree. Too much to remember already, we have to remember a vanity name change? It would not have made any difference and would have been expensive. Others have done it with no effect whatsoever. i.e. recently a science fiction cable channel changed from SciFi to SyFy, because people pronounced it that way. No other change to programming etc. No effect on anything other than their pocketbooks.

Ebid polishing what they had instead of changing the name was good. Website looks great and we are getting more sales and attention. They are on edge of tremendous growth, why change the name? Now if they bought out feebay,,,,,,,,,,,,,
