    Default Getting a message ...

Getting this message up and don't know what it means:-

Diskeeper has deteted that CHKDSK is scheduled to run on the volume: New Volume c: This is due to either a user request or because the operating system has found errors in the file system. CHKDSK will run automatically during the next system reboot until CHKDSK is run diskeeper cannot defragment this volume.

Haven't got a clue what this all means ...

dont know if this will help or not but....

the only time I get a CHKDSK message is when my computer has crashed or got the blue screen of death when closing down... and the next time I boot up it goes through the CHKDSK and removes the corruped file(s)... it then works fine until the next time I get a "BSD"

Over a period of time the files stored on the hard drive will get fragmented, making it more difficult for the file access requests as it has to reassemble files from several locations on the drive, that is why defragger runs to sort them out and put all the file sectors into continuous parts. On occasions some fragments get completely lost and CHKDSK will try and sort it out, deleting orphaned parts if neccessary.

I run defragger monthly each time after a full backup to ensure the machine runs sweetly.

I defrag nearly every day Ken - have to, the damn thing reminds me! Do you think it would help if I did it now?

It said that a program was waiting to run when you next rebooted.
So you should have rebooted and let the program run.
Once it had done so you should have been back to normal.
    Simples.
