Thread: My charity choice for YDC 71 USA

Default My charity choice for YDC 71 USA

I would like to choose Disabled American Veterans for my charity for YDC 71 USA. Their web site says 72% of donations go to the veterans and they help lots of people in lots of ways. They will even give a Vet a ride. You can check them out at www.dav.com.

    Thank you

Good on you Wyo, looking forward to seeing the next lot of auctions.
Good luck, a well deserving cause.
Our Help the Heroes is proving very popular, we all shed a tear when those who loose their lives come home, but the ones we are trying to help and support get forgotten far too often by the media and the public.

Hey look at you - totally on the ball with another deserving and worthy cause - it looks like its the accross the pond equivalent to Help For Heroes.

On saying that - youve reminded me I've forgotten to do a winners thread. I'd better do that now before everyone starts looking for it.

Edited to add - winners thread now done.

Yup, my hubby is a veteran as well.
My bro in law is as well and he received chemo therapy treatment thru the veteran's thingyamebob (I forget what it's called) for cancer in his stomach and esophagus. He's doing well right now and touring around the country with my sister, they are visiting New Mexico at the moment.

Please list some lightweight items so it doesn't break the bank when posting overseas

Seconded! I'd love to support the US members who throw themselves into the various charity projects (not they needed our help this month ) but I simply can't afford the postage on bulky items, and don't have family in America to buy for.

I think that's why the postcards were so popular this month - they were light!
