I have the name ebid as a news, and other things alert on google, and it does keep coming up. A lot of them in German and Dutch but the last one I thought was funny

Google searches pull up some of our conversations here, and they do get translated into various languages. If you google ebid, you get bits and pieces of all kinds of things. Bet this was on one of the football threads that got picked up.

Recently I pulled up my website on google and found the intro was written in Arabic! Cool.

So as your mom always said, watch what you say here, people will read it around the world (good reason NOT to mention you know who by name).

Yeah the ebid meetup keeps popping up but then you get the strange ones, where ebid is not the only organisation or person using the name, like the footballer above or this one.

If the "you know who" is ebay then I still don't figure that one as, when people search the name, then it is generally because they have a problem, where would you want them to go if they do here or to the ebay boards?

The other reason i have heard is to stop it coming up in google adds, but that does not make sense either as you can filter out competitors sites, so they do not show up.
