On the subject of Best Offer, the title of the thread, why not add in your description in BIG letters "Why not use the Ask seller question option to make me an Offer" then see what happens!
Okay hypothetical. I'm kind of new still and really new to eBid. I see your "Why not use the Ask seller question option to make me an Offer". And I start asking myself questions. Is this okay with eBid? If it is why isn't there a button for making an offer? Am I going to get in trouble?

Site approved just looks better then site apathy.

So ask no questions, have no thoughts, and let the status quo remain as it is.

Well that certainly is going to make the world a more interesting place.

Hey Ken, you keep having a moan about Best Offer threads. Why not do what I do when Formula One comes on the telly i.e. look for the off button.

This discussion is important for us who favour this, and equally as important for those who are dead set against it.

As regards people browsing the site, I am sure they can make their own minds up. This forum is a holy retreat compared to ebay's battleground of bigotry and I am sure you are aware that ebay don't do too badly depsite this

    Re your suggestion:

"Why not use the Ask seller question option to make me an Offer"

there is a good reason for not doing this and the only other option is a Best Offer button.

Now this was said with some venom.

To be completely honest I kind of enjoyed it:-)

The "For it" are in the lead with 60.42%.

The "don't cares" are in second with 22.92%.

And as usual the "Against it" are in last, and probably will aways be, with 16.67%.

I like tricks, but I prefer this option as a treat for Halloween. Okay I'm just bumping the thread.

No, no venom was intended, just being factual. There is a good reason we should not be soliciting offers in our listings.

Best to get it from the horses mouth, rather than me.

Weaver, don't you ever sleep? Yikes!

This is the very reason we won the Revolution, very persistent characters!

I've used it before; would use it again. In most cases it tended to frustrate me; could more easily set proxy bid limit to my highest intended bid, and forget about it. In other words, I don't really care.

I have odd hours. I work second shift, so I'm usually up until like 2 or 3 AM EST, I'm a never will recover coffee addict, and I probably have a mild case of OCD.
