I Won A Holiday......or did I!?

Has anyone ever won one of those holidays whereby the sender is "Jane at Selected Winner"? Apparently I won a cruise to Spain, an Italian Highlights tour and trip to Turkey... but of course, I haven't taken up the idea despite the ultimate temptation to do so...

If you clickity click on the button, it redirects to you another website called "European Vacation" and from there, you're asked to pay £20 for your reservation and from there you can make your arrangements..

They claim it's not a scam, because I asked that directly "Is this a scam?" and the reply was "No, it's a legitimate prize you can take up or give to a friend or family member..." but so far, anyone I've tried to pass it on to, have been reluctant to take them up on it!

So, have ye received an email like that??

Yes. It's almost insulting to your intelligence.

If they are giving you a holiday, why would they charge you for the privilege? They are asking for a lot of trust from you and sad to say, many people will probably take the bait.

The worst similar offer I've ever received simply involved a promise to sit through a sales pitch for a time share vacation home. I didn't take advantage of the offer.

Apparently these schemes are lucrative if they keep being offered, but I urge you to flee.

you probably do get the holiday but the catch is you may have to pay airfares, and taxis to and from destination, also it could be once you get there it is a time-share complex and they will pester you to buy one, whatever, there will be a catch

sounds a bit like one of these time share things, you do get I think a certain amount paid

but once there they try to convince you to buy into property
