Thread: Readers digest 4 in 1's?

  1. #1

Default Readers digest 4 in 1's?

Any point to listing them as I have a few, but I would have thought that people would like the full versions rather than 4 stories in 1 book.

Am I assuming correct for the majority?

You're probably assuming correctly if these are the Readers Digest Condensed Books. Here in the U.S. even the thrift shops won't take them.

The only place I've ever had accept some of those is the old Lymington Hospital, where they took them for the library cart. I suppose in that situation wipe-clean covers and a condensed read for those short of time might be helpful.

They make great bookshelf supports, being sturdy and solid. No-one wants to buy them, though I'm assured by some on the Amazon forum that the ones with ISBNs sell as well as other books. I use the ISBN ones as guinea pig bedding, as the paper is thin, poor quality and the piggies love it because it's so soft.

Long ago, my parents subscribed to the books. I read many of them since we didn't watch much tv. A few have been made into movies so you might POSSIBLY sell them? Something like a cross between Cliff's Notes and the full version of a long book on which a movie was based.

In the past, maybe not so much now, I noticed the books with their rather pretentious gaudy bindings were often displayed in photo backgrounds on bookshelves if somebody wanted to look formal and literate.
