Thread: Sewing Patterns

  1. #1

    Default Sewing Patterns

I didn't realise that the sewing patterns in womens section were not catgories in............. ie dress, jacket, tops etc.
What a nuisance to have to search through 339 auction just to find what you are looking for. I saw a couple and gave up.

I was looking for ladies jacket patterns in case anyone has any. 8-18 size would be good.

This lady (Sue) does sewing patterns and an assortment of fabrics too - I have bought from her regularly since about 2005 - very reliable seller - take a peek - she may have something and if all else fails, you could always drop her a line and ask if she has something. Tell her Babs sent you.

I will take look and keep that in mind.

I have PM Meebo1 and I have told her what I am looking for, so I will wait and see what she comes up with.

I'm sure Meebo will have something for you - she has a treasure chest of goodies.

I thought to give you the link cos it is sometimes handy to have a recommended seller - especially as Sue doesn't spend much time on the forums.

She did and it would be perfect.

I have found what I was looking for, ready made in the catelogue sales. I couldn't make it for the price it was going for, so opted to buy it. I just hope I am not disappointed.

Thank you for the link, I will know where to find it if I need it.

Yea, I would agree that it is a very messy category. I noticed it because I listed some new and some vintage patterns and they were all pretty much thrown into one big pot. The vintage ones are highly collectable, yet are buried. The new ones are sought after, yet are buried.

Maybe someone who uses this category alot can suggest to administration some changes to make it easier to navigate?

I have been moving all my sewing patterns from the dark side to my new store here on Ebid and have already listed over 700 so far. I agree that the categories are quite limited here on Ebid ( for now anyways ) and I have had a difficult time trying to decide which category would best suit some of the patterns.

What I have done though is made separate categories within my own store to help buyers with their selection : ie Ladies I have broken down into the pattern makers with other categories that also include full figure, wedding/formal attire and so on. I try to include all of the items that are within the pattern in the listings description as well. One thing that seems to have helped many of my customers is that I also scan the back of the patterns' envelope so they can shop for their fabrics before their pattern arrives and any of the other information that they may need.

I have over 6500 patterns to list here that have been/are running on my dark side store ( not including the multitude of others not scanned into the computer yet ) so this break down seems to have worked well over the last few years. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I want to make shopping a pleasant experience for all buyers Any specific categories you think may help I am more than happy to include them !

Maybe we can get some more categories into Ebid itself ? Of course - just a suggestion
