Default Gazza ...major flaws in this 'feedback request' system...

First major flaw is that I did not want ..did not ask for it..and certainly do not like it...I find it quite offensive and bordering on interference. Yes I know that many peeps 'moaned' about not receiving feed back .. we would all like to receive feedback..but it truly does not bother me in the slightest...a sale...is a sale...is a sale!
It is said that we can 'opt out' of receiving these emails by ticking the box ...this only means WE do not receive them as we have no control over what boxes the buyer ticks at their end. New peeps to Ebid do not know this to begin with ..and I don't suppose every single one of them come straight to the forums to 'bone up' on Ebid etiquette.
Another flaw..... I have buyers..who are repeat buyers..and they buy items over a period of time...then pay for all the items at once...usually at the end/begining of the month :-) ... yesterday, a buyer I have in US paid for all her items...and this morning I find I have an Ebid reminder to LEAVE FEEDBACK ...does this mean she also will have had a reminder...having not even recieved the items?
This is poor...this is not how I want to conduct my online selling...may I suggest that instead of having an 'opt out' tick in the box...you make it an 'OPT IN' tick in the box...

...is there anyone else who feels the same way I do? ...please feel free to add any comments you may have....

    Thank you

A lot of people feel exactly as you do. There was some pretty heated discussion at the time of the introduction of automatic reminders. I'm afraid that while ebid are usually pretty good at listening to user requests, this seems to be one of the areas where they've dug in their heels and laid back their ears, and simply refuse to budge.

    I agree

Many reasons people do not leave feedback and will not.
I have had customers express the reasons why they won't.
some of the reasons listed below

don't want to advertise size or item purchased
going to sell on and don't want peps to know how much paid originally
    bought as a surprise gift
didn't want husband/wife to know where spending money
    private sale

Just a few of many reasons

I think this is one where ebid's stance is based solely on what's good for them, not us. I suspect the original decision is based on wanting feedback figures to rise, to show that the site is active. Perhaps now that they are encouraging feedback importation from repatoo they will rethink their reminder stance? We can but hope!

I often do some Xmas shopping on eBid. I share my computer with my husband. After I buy something for him I quickly delete the emails related to the purchase. I obviously wait for the item to arrive before I leave feedback. If I forget, or the item takes too long languishing at the bottom of postie's bag there is every chance that a reminder will pop up and give my surprise away. D**t!

Feedback reminders from HQ have lost me 2 customers at least so far, so as you can guess I am not pleased with the system as it is, but I will not get into a debate again as it is very much a sore point for many

I agree with all the above - if I'm that desperate for feedback, then surely I can ask for it myself?
Anyway - I didn't think it was compulsory - if not, then why are admin 'interfering' with it?
Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

You can only opt out of receiving them, you cannot opt out of eBid sending them to your buyers/sellers

Yes, as before we have no interest in our buyers being nagged into leaving feedback - its not that important to us.

I agree, it's awful getting nagmails - but I suppose they want to copy eBay and Amazon, who also have feedback nagmail.

What I don't like though, is that the last one I had was written as though it had come from the buyer - I thought they were supposed to be making it clear that they were from eBid and not the other person in the transaction?
