I'll put my revamps on hold for now, until the new logo is available.

I do like purple, & some greens but not that awful lime green, a darker green would be better.

Still not too sure about the two of them together.

I think Gazza means the one we can use for advertising ect, the ones that aren't stand alone have other graphics with them.

That's exactly what's wrong with green and purple. It's totally nauseating.

Still it's their site, they can do what they want with it.
If it is darker teal and darker purple, it might be nice, but I think I have seen those colors in many professional offices!

Must be the new color combo. We see alot of chocolate brown and pink. Now there is a scarey combo.

I agree, even a small change means a lot of redoing. But would be worse if something like the email or website address changed. Then everything would have to be discarded. This way, if someone hands out cards with the old logo, does not change the link, etc and ebid.net, it is no big deal, people will still find us.

I can never understand the need for constant rebranding. Companies spend a fortune advertising (not eBid obviously ) to get their brand recognised in the market and then totally change it so it is unrecognised again. Not only is that cost of previous advertising wasted but all new stationary with new letterheads is needed, building and vehicle livery has to be redone, anywhere the brand appears has to be updated along with all advertising literature and materiel. They then need a new advertising campaign to establish the new brand image. An enormous outlay for a backward step.

You can't? I always thought it was bleedin' obvious.

I mean, visualise the alternative: you hire a consultancy to see if you're doing the right thing. They say, yeah, it looks fine as it is, the customers recognise it, it ain't broke, don't fix it, and here's our invoice for tuppence ha'penny!

    Not gonna happen, right?

However, I'm really saddened to see that smart guys like Gazza and Mark have been suckered into this pit.

Anyone here noticed how Norwich Union are doing their best to get rebranded? Aviwhat? Way to stick out from the crowd, eh... I don't think.

Remember how Thomas Cook threw away 100 years of instant brand recognition by changing to... can't remember. They've seen the error and returned to their old name, but how much cash did that escapade cost them?

ICI did a similar exercise back in the 1960's, all that changed was the logo colour from blue to black, I wonder how much was paid in consultancy fees for that!
