I don't think there is much wrong with the colour scheme we have now. Not sure how green/purple will work out for people like me who are red/green colour blind.

I also hope the revamp is going deeper than just a cosmetic makeover. There are bigger issues that need addressing before the 'look' of the site.

The site's a lot whiter with green and purple as the main colours.
Hmm...green and purple design with a lot of white on show. Sounds like certain site owners have been watching too much tennis...

    Quite.

That's exactly what's wrong with green and purple. It's totally nauseating.

Still it's their site, they can do what they want with it.

    Absolutely.

I joined eBid in the summer of 2006 and have seen myriad changes in that time - some inspired, some good and some bad (but only IMO and other people are bound to have a different take on each and every one of those changes).

An observation of mine over the course of the 3 years I have been a member of eBid is they will introduce what they want when they want (as is their right) and may then react if the forum/general response is overwhelmingly critical.

Sadly though I'm all too familiar with the sentiment expressed in this (partial) post:

And joking apart, I will be deeply unhappy if they are rebranding with precious little notice, and no advance availability of the graphics. Given the amount of free promotional work their customers put in for them, it would be rude, inconsiderate, and downright stupid.
eBid's policy seems to be 'act now and consult later' - maybe that's how all businesses work

An answer would be nice as I've got some revamping to do, & would rather not do it twice.

The logo will be changing a little, the red will become green and the light blue behind the hammer becomes purple. There may possibly be a couple more slight changes to the standalone version.

We'll place a version up here soon. For everyone to check out.

Thanks for the response. Even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear! A total colour change is not "little"!

Oh well, I never was one to keep up with fashion, I might just ignore it!
