    Default Canadian Replicas.. no more

As per Coin World 8-3-09 issue.

Canadian Replicas on Feebay as per RCMP briefing... counterfeits, fakes, replicas, forgeries of Coins and Notes have been banned.
In Canada all replica coins and notes are considered counterfeit.

Last time I checked, there were still copies of old Canadian notes being offered on feebay.

The law sounds good but it probably has no teeth. The Royal Canadian Mint recently issued some replicas of key date coins. Are their products going to be deemed illegal? Of course not. So already there's wiggle room to get around the law. But feebay banning all replicas would definitely have an impact on the spread of counterfeits. On the other hand, the counterfeits that are already here will probably be offered as genuine...
