Tiscali - anybody in? - giving up

Please check my post no19 they called me yesterday explained they had a major server crash this week and transffering to secondary DNS SERVERS and gave me the new dns adresses they will be using..been back in with tiscali since the call yesterday pm....

Anyone still having problems with their DNS have serious issues with their ISP. A simple permanent or temporary solution depending on how you feel is to follow this guide.

I haven't phoned Tiscali, as I'm away from my home PC and using my laptop & my father's phoneline on dialup at present - and it's sooooooo sloooooooow

Still no response from Tiscali.

Why can't they follow the other ISPs and update their DNS

Thanks Gazza for the method you posted which I am using and Gothicina for the method I used to access ebid when server moved

Back home and just checked my main PC to see if I need to adjust the DNS settings - and Tiscali still have NOT updated

So have adjusted - and having a glass of rose to cool down

I think since talk talk took over tiscali things are definately worse..

If it wasn't for Gothicinia and Gazza I would still be pulling my hair out and depending on the local library's computer for updates through the ebid forums.

Have Tiscali actually come up with a specific reason for this awful service they are offering? I find it utterly incomprehendable that something as core to them as pointing their users to a website they cannot even get right. It's like a motorway sign in Birmingham pointing North to London.

No gazza nothing from tiscali at all if it wasn't for your information on opendns would still be stuck
Tiscali taken over the last few weeks by talk talk which says it all. Last time talk talk tried taking on a lot of new customers at once they ended up on Watchdog week after week justifying their bad service.
Looks like when time on this contract up will look to switch supplier again.
