  1. #1

    Default Logo software

    Hi All

Just wanted to know if anybody could highlight a good logo creation programme? I have seen a few small apps but they always end up looking a bit......cheesy lol

    Kind Regards
    Mick

Any graphics programme, some imagination, and a good eye.

What operating system are we talking about here? Free or commercial?

Probably the best vector program will be Illustrator, with Inkscape an excellent free alternative. I'd highly recommend using vector graphics for logo creation. Besides anything else, logos should be simple and thus easy to reproduce, probably incorporating some clever use of type and subtle visual devices, or meaningful styling to the lettering.

All of these should be easy to do in a program like the ones mentioned, if you want some program to design a logo for you then you may as well download some free clip-art and use that instead. You hit the nail on the head - unless you have some design flare then letting some program do the work will almost always end in a cheesy corporate piece. In my opinion.

Of course, one should always start the creative process using imagination, pen, and paper.

What's wrong with Microsoft photodraw and make it yourself using your own pics.

It really isn't that difficult. Once you have created it you can use it over and over again.
