Pre-Euro bank notes

Are these worth anything - answer assuming ordinary, reasonably modern notes in circulated condition, please.. that's what I've found in mother-in-law's handbags...

I know that in Germany they could still be changed for Euros last year by sending them in somewhere. If that is still the case and if that is so for all countries I don't know

Not sure if this helps - they don't give the best exchange rate, and only accept notes, but it may help
