I would say it's Japanese, but that's it. Yes and it is lovely

Are you sure it is a vase and not an URN without a top.

Personally, and I'm NO expert! - I'd say it was imported from China, probably sometime in the last 20 years.
I'm going by the handles - crudely modelled, and the glaze is very thick.

Its more than 20 years old, as it been in our family for at least 50 years

Hi..ifyou go throughsome japanese listings on bay..you will find them..they have lots and lots of items of japanese origin
