Default Have you seen some of the fancy effects in Safari?

The use of 3D is interesting, and makes me wonder if a similar direction could make eBid really stand out above the crowds.

If you've used the latest iTunes or an iPod Touch you'll know what I'm talking about - browsing bookmarked websites or your albums in a sort of 3D flip book; imagine utilizing this technology (if it's possible) for browsing auctions, going through your gallery, that sort of thing. I know it's just a visual gimmick, but boy it's a good one!

I shall be investigating it further anyway. It may turn out to be a closed tech that's proprietary to Apple, but worth a look methinks.

Flashy window dressing, and by it's very nature will use more resources, and therefore be slower I would think. Always run on the KISS principle.

I would have no reason to use that - i've always though that when it comes to listing, the more concise and accurate, the better.
I wouldn't be waiting on that kind of thing when I'm searching, either - even that Auctiva rolling pictures thing makes me back-button!

That uses inefficient code and is always slow. If you've used Safari you'd see that it's actually very slick, comes up immediately and can run on the iPhone and iPod Touch natively.

It's not dependent on Flash or Javascript, it uses CSS which is fast and native to most modern web browsers. Just a thought to help make eBid stand out from the crowd, but perhaps you're happy languishing in mediocrity?

The best (in my opinion) option I have seen is on another auction site (not feebay).
Buyers dont even have to open up items when making multiple purchases.
They simply drag them straight into a basket - it makes the entire buying process easier than anywhere I have seen.

#6 - I may be 'languishing in medioctity'. but as an 'oldie' who doesn't have the money or the technical knowlege to embark on posh programs I don't understand or need, I'm quite happy to remain so.

I still think the KISS principle is the best and most efficient.
