Thread: US "Junior" size clothing Subcategory, Please!

  1. #31

    Wink Junior sizes

Good idea about the "US Junior size" distinction. That would say it all.

Everyone wants customers to be satisfied. If there is any chance they will buy the wrong size, we should try to eliminate it.

Helpful to include measurements in clothing in listing, but they depend on the cut and style of the garment too. i.e. A swing style jacket has oversized back measurements as opposed to a fitted suit jacket.

Hopefully this issue gets settled soon.

However - my beef is with the 'search stores' list.

In that, there is only one suitable category for my 'plus-sizes' store - ie Women's clothing.
I'm sure that all the owner of lovely lingerie shops, or sportswear shops for women are feeling the same frustration - I'm currently on page 5, and feel very sorry for the people who may be on the last page and never get a look because there are at least 150 stores under ' Womens clothing'

I would like to see the womens clothing STORES GROUP sub-divided into things like juniors, plus sizes, lingerie, petites, sportswear, knitwear etc - a lot of people just sell one type of women's clothing
I see what you mean now. 150 stores of women's clothing definately needs some way to separate different types of stores.

I always try to include measurements. It helps if someone wants to compare my item with their own clothes, for example the armpit to armpit width, the inseam length, etc. Then they have a better idea if it will fit.

A bit of a slow learner here. I haven't ever browsed by STORES. I always enter a few keywords into the search field at upper left. Will have to look into shopping by stores. I'm not proud to make this announcement but thought it would highlight that some shoppers do need to be educated.

Still hoping to get this category. I just looked at a couple of Junior size catelogs my daughter gets, Delia's and Alloy. They actually have Junior sizes up to size 25! No wonder the kids like these stores, more styles, more sizes. I have seen Delia's stores in some of the malls now. Very popular, and they have jeans up to 37" length. My son is 6' 2" and likes tight flared jeans, and he is not the only guy in the US to wear "girl pants". He gets his jeans from Delia's (and he is "straight").

I hope Gazza is considering adding this much needed category for US sellers.

Hi All, I'm selling from the US.

I think the "Junior" size is a needed category. In the US the major difference between Women's and Junior's sizing is in the waist to hip ratio and the circumference of the thigh area. Junior sizes are more slender in the hips and thighs as they have not filled out to the more womanly figure yet.

My auctions for clothing will have measurements (both inches and cms). My auctions will have a chart of sizes for the corresponding countries I plan to sell to. I plan to do this regardless of any category I place my auctions in so buyers can actually measure one of their own garments to compare to the item I am selling.

The STORE CATEGORIES... I know I'm off subject here:
My stores will carry Men's, Women's and Children's clothing and accessories. I would like the top Store Category repeated so I could select "Clothing and Accessories" for a Category and then "Clothing and accessories" for a sub category. As for now, I put my Stores in the "Women's Clothes" category as more women shop for clothes than men. I am OK with being at the bottom of the Clothing STORE listing pages because I believe most people use the search option for Auction titles and content. Quite frankly, I would like the STORE PAGE to be deleted so people will be forced to search by title and content of Auctions. If they find a store they like they can use the "Add to my Favorite Sellers" option.

But I vote "Yes"; add JUNIOR to the Clothing category as I would definitely use it. I would usually put these garments in both "Juniors" and "Misses" categories to make these items more likely to sell regardless of what country the seller is from.

Having shopped with my teenage granddaughters, I KNOW that teen and Jr. sizes should be listed in a category of their own. A size 12 teen does not fit a size 12 adult and a pair of Jr. size 14 pants would have a hard time covering up the backside of a size 14 lady....no offense, I'm a size 14 lady myself.

I have started a thread requesting that the stores category 'Womens clothes' be subdivided into specialist groups, one being 'Juniors/Teens' - comments welcome!
Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

There is another selling site, I won't name names, a US site that has been online for just over 2 years and it has almost 6500 items in the "Junior" clothing category (a subcategory under Women's Clothing). I would like to be able to sell Junior clothing on eBid in the correct category.

If eBid becomes well known in the US, which we all hope for, it will need to have a Junior Clothing category. The unnamed site mentioned above has over 6700 items in the Junior Clothing category now. I am holding off listing the rest of my Junior clothing until there is a correct category to list in. At this moment I am not listing on any other sites.
