Thread: Clothes for Reborn Dolls.

  1. #1

    Default Clothes for Reborn Dolls.

If anyone sees this who crafts these dolls, would they be kind enough to let me know:-
    1) what is the clothes size most needed
    2) what type of hand-knits they look for - ie single items like jumpers, or whole sets, coat, bonnet, bootees & mitts
    3) Do they prefer white items with little colour accents - or is there a market for whole sets in blue/pink/yellow etc.

(I ask because I have quite a few prem/1st size items at low prices, but no-one seems interested and I'm wondering if they are the wrong type?)

    Thanks in advance!

Just spotted this, whilst looking for something else.

I don't actually craft / make the dolls themselves, but make outfits for them.

I do own a reborn doll - mine is a 24 inch - lifesize - but she is used as a model for whatever outfit that I need to photo for listing.

Before I started making clothes for these dolls, I did a bit of research myself, and from what I gleened at that time, the more fancy and elaborate the better. The people that have these dolls for display / exhibitions - I have heard that one lady actually took hers out as if it was a real baby in a real babies pram - but her doll was one that had breathing movement aswell as a lifelike appearance. But, back to the people that display these dolls like to have plenty of ribbons, bows and flouncies on the outfits. Mainly white, with a splash of colour.

I've got a couple of outfits myself that I can't shift because I think they're a little too plain, and not fancy enough. I hope this helps.

Sadly lol I too have these dolls.

Mine are all 20" to 22"

I love to dress them in frilly outfits, that could be because I am a frustrated Grandma my 3 grown up children are not in the least interested in providing me with the real thing.

    Just saw this thread.

I too have a few reborns. I collect dolls (probably too many ). I think most people dress them in the frilly stuff that most young mums today would be horrified if put on a new baby.

    Hope this helps.

it depends on the size of the reborn some are made the size of premmies, some newborn, others older,it really depends and the listing of the reborns will say the weight. i have made these in the past and some even take real life size doll clothes. hope this helps
