    Default More bead cats, please

Hi Gazza, could you make the following changes to the Bead (Perle) categories, please?

    New top level cat Ceramic
    (Céramique)

Ceramc > Other (Céramique > Autre)
    Ceramic > Polymer Clay/Fimo (Céramique > Pâte Polymère/Fimo)
Ceramic > Porcelain (Céramique > Porcelaine)

Remove Crystal as a top level cat, re-name Glass as Glass & Crystal and add the following sub-cats (Verre et Cristal)
Glass & Crysal > Bicone (Verre et Cristal > Toupie)
Glass & Crysal > Cat's Eye (Verre et Cristal > Oeil de Chat)
Glass & Crysal > Crystal (Verre et Cristal > Cristal)
Glass & Crysal > Crackle (Verre et Cristal > Craquelé)
Glass & Crysal > Faceted (Verre et Cristal > Facette)
Glass & Crysal > Lampwork (Verre et Cristal > Lampwork)
Glass & Crysal > Millefiori (Verre et Cristal > Millefiori)
Glass & Crysal > Other (Verre et Cristal > Autre)
Glass & Crysal > Pearl (Verre et Cristal > Nacré)
Glass & Crysal > Swarovski > Bicone (Verre et Cristal > Toupie)
Glass & Crysal > Swarovski > Other (Verre et Cristal > Autre)

    Metal (Métal)
Metal > Cloisonné (Métal > Cloisonné)
Metal > Gold Plated (Métal > Plaqué Or)
Metal > Other (Métal > Autre)
Metal > Silver Plated (Métal > Plaqué Argent)
Metal > Sterling Silver (Métal > Argent Massif)
Metal > Tibetan Silver (Métal > Argent Tibétain)

    Mixed Lots (Lots Mixtes)

    Other (Autre)

Add sub-cats to Pearl (Perles de Culture)
Pearl > Dyed (Perles de Culture > Teint)
Pearl > Natural (Perles de Culture > Naturelle)
Pearl > Synthetic (Perles de Culture > Synthétique)

Combine the two Seed categories, rename Seed & Bugle and add the following sub-cats (Rocaille et Tube)
Seed & Bugle > Bugle (Rocaille et Tube > Tube)
    Seed & Bugle > Seed 6/0 (Rocaille et Tube > Rocaille 4mm)
    Seed & Bugle > Seed 8/0 (Rocaille et Tube > Rocaille 3mm)
    Seed & Bugle > Seed 11/0 (Rocaille et Tube > Rocaille 2mm)
    Seed & Bugle > Seed 15/0 (Rocaille et Tube > Rocaille 1,5mm)
Seed & Bugle > Other (Rocaille et Tube > Autre)

Move Shell from Bead Art and add sub-cats (Coquillage)
Shell > Dyed (Coquillage > Teint)
    Shell > Mother of Pearl/Abalone (Coquillage > Nacre/Abalone)
Shell > Natural (Coquillage > Naturel)
Shell > Other (Coquillage > Autre)

New top level cat Stone (Pierre Semi-Précieuse)
    Stone > Chips (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Eclats)
    Stone > Dyed (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Teinte)
    Stone > Other (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Autre)
    Stone > Semi-Precious > Agate (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Agate)
    Stone > Semi-Precious > Jasper (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Jaspe)
    Stone > Semi-Precious > Other (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Autre)
    Stone > Semi-Precious > Quartz (Pierre Semi-Précieuse > Quartz)

Re-name Plastic as Synthetic and add the following sub-cats (Synthétique)
Synthetic > Acrylic > Bicone (Synthétique > Acrylique > Toupie)
Synthetic > Acrylic > Other (Synthétique > Acrylique > Autre)
Synthetic > Acrylic > Round (Synthétique > Acrylique > Ronde)
Synthetic > Other (Synthétique > Autre)
    Synthetic > Polyurethane/PU (Synthétique > Polyuréthane)
Synthetic > Resin (Synthétique > Résine)

    Wood (Bois)

Remove top level cat Silver (there are 3 silver sub-cats under Metal) and move listings to Metal > Tibetan Silver

Move top level cat Crystal to the Glass sub-cat Crystal and re-name the top level Glass & Crystal

Remove top level cats Amethyst, Jade & Turquoise and move the listings to Stone.

Remove top level cat Gemstone and move listings to Stone > Semi-Precious.
There are no gemstone beads listed and I'd be very surprised if any were added in the near future.

Remove top level cat Loose Beads and move listings to Ceramic > Polymer Clay/Fimo
(all beads are loose before they're made into something)

Remove top level cat "Mother of Pearl" and move listings to Shell > Mother of Pearl

    Move Findings to Jewellery Making
(they're not beads and we really don't need four sections to list findings in)

Remove the cat Cultured & Freshwater Pearls from Bead Art and move the listings to Pearl > Dyed (Nowadays, pretty much all pearls, whether fresh or salt water, are cultured.)

Move top level cat Rhinestone to Sewing & Embroidery > Trimmings and rename Flatbacks. (Why would you want to iron something onto jewellery?)

    Thank-you.

I agree, all those suggestions make sense.
For coloured stone and pearl, do you mean dyed?
And maybe add rocailles as another subcategory under Seed & Bugle.

Thanks, I've changed it - dyed makes much more sense than coloured.

I haven't added rocailles to the request, partly because I always thought it was just another name for seed beads
(please, feel free to disabuse me of that notion) but mainly because there are only two listings at the moment.

Great suggestions i think the whole lot needs reorganising
for instance if i have a pair of rond nose pliers which cat do i put them in
    jewellery making > tools
    Bead art > bead tools
    Bead art > pliers
Any of these would apply but it scatters the lisings about if there are 3 rather than just 1

Don't want to confuse you but did you not think to list them in
Jewellery & Watches > Jewellery Boxes & Supplies > Tools & Creation Equipment

That's what I think too, Kayla. I thought Gazza had moved all the jewellery-making stuff from the Watches category when he created the new categories (shows how closely I was paying attention!)
CM, I might be wrong about the rocailles but I always thought they were more "square-edged" than seed beeds and usually metallic/foil lined - more like 1/3(ish) of a bugle bead. I think Delica beads are a similar shape but in a much broader range of colours.
    But I'm open to correction!

I must have had a senior moment, wondering what a bead cat (meow) looks like
