nope still here, just biting my tongue lol.

    i will leave on this note. Selling an item on ebid (as with ebay) is all down to 4 things;
    feedback
    good product
    resonable price
    good advert.

Most people seem to forget that a listing is an advert, its an advert for the product your selling, as such treat it as one. People spend thousands on adverts every year for a reason. A poorly designed advert wont sell a product no matter how cheap or great value the product is.

If your selling a fixed item on here...

(by fixed i mean an item that is mass produced, especially an electronic item such as a phone or ipod. A non fixed item is something that can change and no two products are the same e.g cutom jewellery)

.. and you have more than 5 visitors look at your item, you need to ask yourself why didnt it sell? e.g. the person who looked at your item must have wanted an ipod or phone, more than likely they searched for the model number or the brand name and your listing came up. so why didnt they buy??

    either
    1) they were just browsing and came across your product
    2) your too expensive
    3) its the wrong product but same brand name
    4) they dont trust you

    It really is that simple.

If you have a good layout you can make sure you eliminate number 4 before they even look at your feeback or your item description.
also a good layout + banner etc can actually make your item seem more expensive than it actually is, thus you can charge more.

im sorry if at any point in this thread i seemed a bit harsh etc but as i mentioned before ive always been straight with everyone i meet.

Ive had instances where a client has mentioned that something ive designed for them may have a negative side effect i wasnt aware of.
I would of cause redesign the clients project.
I then think about what they said and if there is even a remote chance that there right i would make a note and never include that design feature in anyone elses design project.

    Its all basic stuff.

In short who ever looks at your advert must feel like they are drawn into your item and are compelled to buy it. Never do anything no matter how remote to push them away. you dont need to increase the traffic to your listings, just increase your visitor to sales conversion rate.
