Thread: Background colour disappeared!

  1. #1

    Default Background colour disappeared!

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? I usually have a grey background to my listings but it has disappeared and is just a white one now...

Of course I am not an expert in html - I copied my html listing design from another site where I listed; aha! lo and behold it has disappeared from there as well!

So I guess it must be my computer, although I have viewed it in Firefox and IE and it is still the same. I tried to tinker with the html on my listing to repaste in the code for the background at the top of the script, so I have probably messed it up for good now, knowing me - if it ever rights itself.

Would someone have a minute just to check out any of my listings in my store, and let me know if they see a grey background or a white one?

This is genuine - not some ruse to get you look at my store, I assure you, LOL

    Thanks alot

PS - if you could look at a recently listed card that would be a help - because the earlier ones I did at the back end of last year DID have a white background! Sorry to be so confusing.

Anything listed since November really and before this morning because I listed a couple this morning which was after I tried to rectify the fault.

Thanks if anyone has time to do this.

Does the name Antique Central mean anything to you? You seem to have a call to a picture for the background, that no longer exists. http://www.antique-central.com/image...grounds/03.gif

Yes, Antique Central was the place I got the background from; it may not exist now because I tinkered with it this morning... after discovering it wasn't visible.

It happened the other day but then later on the background was visible again; I thought it must be something to do with my browser.

For it to disappear on all my listings must mean it has gone forever I guess... I was going to copy the html from a listing I have on the dark side at the moment but when I looked at it, (not in html) the grey background had disappeared from that as well which seems puzzling; I did not tinker with that one at all!

I have just looked up the website for antique central and it is under construction! Maybe that is why the link has disappeared - the site has gone down.

The whole website is dead. You'll need to find a new picture, or use a plain colour setting. If you haven't got an account with photobucket yet, I can recommend them since joining earlier this year.

Thanks for taking the time to help Kimbo. I do have an account with photobucket.

I don't know much about html and what I would need to put in and where, I used that background link ages ago, years ago - as a link to that site and it worked. I haven't a clue how to put in another one, all I would want is a plain coloured background to the listing.

Will have to try and find another one... and I will look on photobucket to see if they can offer anything.
    Thanks again.

Plain colour's easy to do. If nobody else gives you the answer today, PM me this evening when I should have a bit more time!
