Ok, here is my picture. My mom is holding me. We are both squinting at the sun. I am so fat [mother's milk you know].

I was a chubby baby too and it would seem National dried baby milk was used in vast quantities for me.... weaned on mashed potatoes seems to have been the norm at the end of the war...
I am sure now, hands would be thrown up in horror at our diets then...but we survived rationing and hard times and I am a fit (ish) quite slim 64 year now AND I STILL LOVES & GROWS NEW POTATOES ...IN TUBS IN THE BACK GARDEN

If you are thinking of growing them... Choose first earlies like Arran Pilot, Foremost or a new one Rocket. Put them to sprout ( Chit ) laid out in eggboxes NOW...in a frost free but not too warm, light place.. look on line for more details of planting and crop care.... it's easy and New potaoes in May.... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Scrummy

Spyder, it looks a sthough your mum had the same taste in clothes as mine. I used to have smocks with lots of embroidery on them. Very girlish, perhaps that where my feminine side comes from. (written in a deep gruff voice in case someone gets the wrong idea......lol)

Well I grew up thinking that Andy Pandy was a girl - despite the name. I just couldn't accept that a boy would be dressed like that. I was an adult before I found out the truth.

For any overseas readers that do not know of Andy Pandy; he was a puppet on a childrens' TV show in the 50s.
