Erratic view count
I am new to this site and was happy to see there were view counters - however, the numbers appear and disappear. I have put a variety of items on to see what might have interest and the only way I can tell is by the number of people viewing the items. The views are a critical component for me because I sell a variety of items and I hope something is being done to correct this.
Hello Candyk. The view counters are extremely un-reliable. There have been many posts about how they go down, up, to zero etc. It is known by eBid management and I think I am correct in saying that it will be resolved at some stage in the near future. Whatever, do not rely on them.
This was Ebid's reply to my enquiry about the counters, quoted directly:
"The counters are working ok apart from a few small glitches that have occured over the past few weeks. We arehave hopefully ironed these out now so if there are any more problems please let us know."

One of my auctions (12604183) went from 4 views to 3 views overnight, so, following the instructions you received, I've let the eBid Helpdesk know!
I've just seen it jump to 7 views, so maybe they are looking into it!

That's great, the more people let them know about this fault the better - we may soon be able to have reliable counters on our listings hopefully.

I've never paid much attention to the number of views. For the record, I just added a listing and it immediately had 338 views! No bids, though. Oh, well.
I would be much more interested in the number of people watching an auction.

One of my auctions went to 950 hits within minutes of listing too.
