    I think the only stipulations were that it must be washable and the size: 7" square with the design no bigger than 5" (hope that's right)

    The ones I've made have either been cotton or polycotton squares. Most of the decoration that I've put on them has been polycotton, but I have also used satin, and felt, and for the wording I've either used wool or thread.

    Yes, thats the stuff. They are usually cotton or polycotton. Same as most gents shirts - the type a man would normally wear with a tie.

    He's got a ton of shirts that he wears for work, so i'm sure he wouldn't notice if i nicked one, alternatively i'm sure i have a sheet i don't use anymore that i can cut up.
    Now i just have to decide what to paint or put on it ?
    I'm useless at making decisions so it could take weeks to decide.
