What a great idea Shezz

It would be best if everyone used the same type of fabric ie cotton for their squares as then it would wash better, different fabrics react to washing in different ways.

if you are unsure wash the fabric before you start, then you will know if its going to shrink or go out of shape.

i reckon if its going to have embellishements and crossstitch etc then it probably wont get used or washed - more a collectable piece maybe

I have made lots of quilts with cross stitch, and the blocks have had embellishments on them, and they have all been chucked in the washing machine before going to the recipient...

I have one here that was made for me with charms and beads attached and its been washed umpteem times.

Of course, paper and felt wouldn't stand up to it..

I think people will be sensible and know if theirs won't be washable.

I have so much fabric here thats not a problem...and wadding...

But we may need a bit help with the postage costs later...

Wasn't there an eBid quilt done sometime in the past? I'm sure somebody dug an old photo out and stuck it on the forums not so long ago. Was it 'e' ?
Whoever it was it would be good to show it again on this thread to let everybody see the last masterpiece that eBidders created!

Yup cornish i organised the YDC scroll a couple of years ago, it turned out great,

now were going bigger and betterer edit that it only betterer cos it's gonna be bigger

oh and it was me that dug it out, thats what prompted me to do another one
