Thread: Hello all card makers . . .

  1. #1

Default Hello all card makers . . .

. . . I know in some respects we are rivals for business on ebid , but I like to think we are also fellow crafters so my question is do you all have a design in mind on plan it on paper b4 you start? or are you inspired by the main pic and let the card develope as you go?

i tend to just go with the flow, sometimes it might be a pic in a magazine that starts me off in the way objects are placed or the theme, sometimes I might just go through the stuff I have and play around There is a Di Hickman's sketches blog that I go to for some mojo!!
    Have a great day!

I never have a plan, just look at the stuff I have in my boxes, see what goes with what, play around and stick them down....

You're both like me, my cards just seem to develope as I go along. I reckon we all develope our own style. Even though I make many different styles & themes with my cards, people tell me they can tell a Lesley card as soon as they see it
Not quite sure if thats good or bad !!!

I usually build a mental picture of what I have that may be relevant to a theme. If I know it's a card a design that will work on many levels, then I will sketch it in a book because I have a memory like a sieve! Other times, I create on the spur should resources be limited - just to try and use them up, though this method takes a lot longer to come up with the finished design.
Either way, the designs tend to get tweaked along the way!
I always look at magazines, craft tv for inspiration as it drives me to creativity!

When I can get my photo card reader working, I will uplist my Valentine Cards for sale, too! In the meantime, I'm sorting out how to be a Smirk! LOL
