I find our stuff on Google all the time and most of our sales on ebid have come from it. Really, really useful.

Thanks for the advice, however i do think Ebid needs to do a bit of advertising, flebay is all over the place.

Chatting with a friend today i mentioned ebid and he had never heard of it, and this was someone who knows flebay inside and out?

    Exclamation ebid on google

tried this and found hardly any listings of mine if there were any for postage stamps and often there were no stamp listings whatsoever,

does it matter that i dont have a store/shop?

most my listings used to be for 7 days plus a little but in the past couple of weeks as they have expired i have made them for 14 days as i had read that 10 days with a buy it now option was needed.

is there anything else i need to be doing to get my listings to appear on google?

thanks, I had already set up google checkout when i joined ebid using the clear instructions from jeweleffects (for which many thanks)

I also set up google base for my US store that I still retain on the dark side whilst i wait until they either kick me off, quite likely with their crazy DSR rules or this site starts to produce some meaningful sales.

However, I cant work out how to add ebid to my existing google base despite reading the links, am somewhat of an IT novice, only really understand tax, very boring according to the wife, lol:-)

and i recall that to begin with my items were appearing on google far more than they are now. is it because i dont have a store/shop on ebid?

Did you follow the link? It's not about google checkout, it just describes ebid's rules for inclusion in googlebase, which is what I thought you wanted to know?

Can't know it that well. Anyone who ever visits the forums over there must know about ebid by now. Do they know about the forums, or have they benn scared off by all the big nasty trolls that lurk on Q&A

I have to say the only Items I have ever seen from our stores on Google Base are the ones we upload manually ourselves

To be honest, we haven't time to mess about timing our listings to fit in with the uploads and setting the listing times to suit.

If you want to ensure they are on Google checkout, I'd suggest uploading them yourselves. It's a doddle and takes 5 mins max to download your listings, sign into google & kick off the upload.

"Mess about timing"? All you have to do is make sure they run for more than about 8 days. Since having a repeating pattern of X days X times is also good for ensuring search list visibility within the site, I don't consider that an extra chore, it's an essential part of creating an effective listing. You only have to get it right once at set-up, and I've got that built into my defaults.
